If your computer is stuck at 0 Watts, you need to reboot before testing a different game. If it is still set to 8000 then any other game you try to run is also going to be limited to the base frequency. exit the game and check to see if this register has been reset. if you have a game that has this throttling problem, start the game, ALT+TAB out to your desktop, run CPU-Z and look at the turbo power limits register to see if either of the power limits have been set to 8000 (0 Watts). You should never see 8000 on either side of this register. If you see the 8000 value displayed for either power limit then the BIOS is not setting your CPU up correctly. after booting up and before running anything, run CPU-Z, create a report and check this register. The 8 means that this power limit is enabled and the 000 means the turbo power limit register is set to 0 Watts. If you see the value 8000 at these two locations within that register, that is the problem. Ok I checked and my GPU clocks don't change when I come Back to the game after Alt-Tabbing I'll also check to see if the clocks get reduced when I tab back in and report it here too. I'll look into the game priority in task manager and report back. (I do have gsync enabled for both windowed and fullscreen mode) I guess gsync works better with fullscreen. I do have slightly less performance overall than fullscreen. I can alt-tab with no loss of performance when I tab back into the game. **UPDATE** I went ahead and selected fullscreen borderless window mode for both call of duty modern warfare and black ops cold war and it seems to have fixed my problem (mostly). Only a few titles, especially Black ops Cold war and Modern warfare I just played Borderlands 3, and B元 doesn't suffer any performance hit when I alt-tab out and back in. I remember reading on the web that apprently it might have something to do with gsync, although I don't understand why The whole game feels very glitchy and hitches a lot when I come to back to it after alt tabbing out. to be integrated into Timeline once they create high-quality activity cards for their apps. nope.Click to expand.ok I checked and my GPU clocks don't change when I come Back to the game after Alt-TabbingĪs for the priority I set it to High priority manually and my FPS is still about 40% less than when I DON'T alt tab out of the game. But whereas Task Switcher is activated using Alt + Tab. i played a lot of fallout 4 on ps4 200+ h and now after i upgraded my pc i thought a can play it on high settings and a good fps but. and if i let the game at 60 fps cap i only get 40fps or lower. i tried adaptive vsync and is better than 60 fps cap but still i have HUGE fps drop like from 130 to 40-53 constantly and is just unplayable. There are mods and tweaks that claim to fix the problems caused by running over 60FPS, but they haven't been tested extensively and may cause long-term problems for stability. ![]() The game cannot properly handle running at higher FPS, and I've seen cases where enabling Vsync on 144Hz monitors actually limits the FPS to around 40, because it limits it to half the refresh rate. ![]() ![]() It may also be that you need to limit your FPS to 60 instead of turning on Vsync. ini? It may be that precombines are disabled, which tanks performance, especially in the city. OP: do you have any mods, especially "scrap everything"-style mods? And/or have you made changes to the. At 1080p there is no reason Fallout 4, or any game from 2015 or older, should be running under 60FPS at ultra. Usually a few minutes of switching weapons and switching from 3rd person to first and back will make it work some what for a while. Upon a successful alt-tab back which without a bugfix I use would be about 1 of the time, I get greeted with an invisible non functional weapon.
